You Say Crazy Like It's An Insult

Today marks the first day of my three weeks of vacation, and I don’t think I have looked forward to anything quite this much in a long time. I have felt my body and my brain rebelling against the very idea of work for a little while, and now it is completely turning into mush. Being able to leave work behind and not giving it a second thought last night felt really refreshing, and that allowed me to relax in a way that I haven’t in a while.

Two weeks of this vacation time will be spent out of the country, and we are leaving on Thursday afternoon, which means that I now have to finish packing and getting everything ready for that trip. It is more work than you’d think to pack for two weeks, and I want to be sure that I don’t forget anything important. While most things will be fine, because I can just buy them there, there are things that I really need to bring with me. So I will be making a list and checking things off as I go, and hopefully I will be able to get through the packing process without forgetting anything important. We’ll have to see. I mean, I need to have clothes, my bathing suit, a towel for the beach, and a bunch of stuff like that. I am not sure what else I need to bring, but that is the major things that I need to pack and bring. I do have a bunch of new clothes that I will be bringing, things that I haven’t really worn before, apart from trying them out, so that is going to be fun.

It has not been completely without issues to get this vacation going though. We have a mess with scheduling at work (not that my bosses would ever allow that to effect my vacation, but still) due to one of our number quitting, and teaching new people, just as I leave. But that is not something that I can do anything about anyway, so I am not going to allow that to dampen my spirits. There was also the little detail about D’s passport. That has been something to deal with. It appears that he lost his passport when we move two years ago, and hasn’t noticed until he started looking for it for this trip. And right now, the waiting times to get a new passport is ridiculous so he had to go and get himself a temporary passport today, because the new one just doesn’t have time to arrive before we leave. But that is now sorted, and we are getting close to ready to get going. I am starting to feel the butterflies in my stomach that always comes with going away for some time, and I am really starting to feel the pre-travel jitters. I am not going to feel completely ready until we are in the air I think, maybe not even then. That is just the way that I work. But I know that I will be able to relax the moment we reach the hotel, so I am not too worried.

Anyway, it is time to get to bed so that I can get up in time tomorrow. Have a wonderful night everyone!

Love, Luna.
