Today was the day of the annual BBQ gathering that a friend puts together, and it just so happened to coincide with the Ralts Community Day in Pokemon Go… Not willing to skip out on either event, we decided to hit two birds with one stone. The place where the BBQ is usually taking place is located right on a cluster of spawns and fairly close to a stop after all.
Things turned out… well… slightly wet…
The BBQ
This was the third time I was along for this BBQ, and it’s always a lot of fun. Most of the group is not really my friends per se, but I have enjoyed getting to know them. The friend that organises this gathering is a mutual friend of me and my mom (I met her through mom actually), and the group consists of her friends (obviously). That said, I really enjoy getting out to the sea and spend a few hours with these people every now and then.
This year, the weather seemed intent on getting in our way, with insistent downpours of rain that came and went. By the time we were able to grill our food, in between showers, we were soaking wet! That didn’t dampen our spirits though, we have endured worse. The first year I took part in this it started raining to the point where we had to tie up a tarp between the trees to keep our bags and ourselves somewhat dry, with varying success. So this rain didn’t wash away our plans at all, but it did make everything really wet.
We ended up leaving early, not wanting to risk getting sick, and starting for home. We did take a small detour on the way though.
Community Day
The Ralts line is in my all-time top three Pokemon lines and I had been looking forward to this Community Day (CD) since it was announced. Besides being one of my favourites on its own merits, it has one of the prettiest shinies in the National Dex in my opinion. I love that little blue cutie, and the baby blue Gardevoir is incredibly pretty.
While we were at the BBQ during most of the CD, we were able to play a little while there. We were is a spot with a cluster of spawns right there. Unfortunately, that cluster doesn’t work well with CD’s, spawning mostly other stuff that is not as interesting at the time. So, that’s a bit disappointing.
When we left the group to go home, we made a split-second decision to go down to the harbour in town to get a few more catches in. I’m the kind of player that wants one of every evolution, especially for my favourite lines, and that includes the shinies, so I wanted to get four at a minimum. I didn’t quite reach that number, landing at three, but at least I got a pretty decent shiny Gardevoir out of it.
An Extra Splash of Black
We were going to stop at D’s work on the way home anyway to pick up some food for him (because he didn’t bring enough to grill) and caught a Rayquaza raid while we were there. This was my first Ray since it returned to raids, and it topped off the day beautifully with a really good black beauty to add to my collection! This is another shiny that I absolutely love, it is so gorgeous!
So, that’s my day in a nutshell, I hope you have a wonderful one! And don’t forget to stay crazy!
