You Say Crazy Like It's An Insult

There are few things that annoy me more than when people can’t leave other people’s stuff well enough alone!

We’ve been having an issue over the past week and a half with people coming into our parking lot and stealing petrol from the parked cars during the night. Last week, a neighbor and her daughter alerted me to the fact that someone had been stealing petrol from my car. When we looked the parking lot over, we noticed that one other car, of the same make and model as mine, had also been messed with. While they ended up not getting too much petrol with them for whatever reason, it was incredibly annoying. I hate having my things tampered with by other people!

The day after we spent the evening at my dad’s place, having some BBQ and just a nice evening in general. But when we got home it seems like we, or something else, interrupted people on the parking lot trying to finish the job. We didn’s see any people, but we did find their tools, a large can and a hose, still attached to the car that they had been trying with the night before… D was out of the car immediately, getting on the phone to the police while I parked the car, and then started the waiting game. We couldn’t exactly leave the stuff there before the police arrived, and I was not about to leave D alone in the parking lot in the middle of the night. So I waited with him, even though I had to get up for work the next day, and when the police arrived (three people in one car) they looked everything over, took photos, and then took the hose with them. The can, which contained petrol, they left standing around because the petrol in in belonged to the car owner.

It has been quiet since then, but I kept my fuel levels fairly low, and has kept a small can of petrol in the back of my car ever since, just in case. And boy, was I happy about that when I went down to go to work Thursday morning! The first thing I noticed when I got down was that another big puddle had been added to the ones that was already on the ground from the last attempt. It made me instantly suspiscious, and when I started the car up, I had my suspiscions confirmed. The tank was pretty much empty… There we go again… I don’t know why it is so difficult to leave other people’s property alone! They didn’t get very much out of my car since I only had a little bit of petrol in the tank, and since I had the emergency can in the back of the car I could get to work no problem, but I shouldn’t have to take those precaustions! I shouldn’t have to wonder when I go down to the car whether I have enough fuel to get where I am going… It is going to get really tiring if it continues on, and might become a bit expensive if I have to keep re-fueling every week, or every other week. It is slowly becoming something that brings a lot of annoyance to my life, and that is something I don’t need right now.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that by keeping my fuel levels low I can make whoever is doing this see that it is not worth the risk and work, because they won’t get much out of it. It is worth a shot at least.

Keep your fingers crossed for me Moonrays!

Love, Luna
